Bailey Middle School

At Bailey Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year we provided support for students in grade 8 taking the English I EOC Exam.  Our team conducted reading and writing camps for teachers and students and met with students one-on-one to conduct writing conferences after our team analyzed students writing samples to provide immediate feedback with opportunities for revision.  Principal Brown conducted surveys and receive feedback from students that not only was the sessions fun, but that students felt like their writing had grown after attending the writing bootcamp.  Principal Brown was pleased when percentages for students scoring at Meets increased from 79% to 91%.  We worked with teachers and students again for the 2019-2020 school year, however, our work was put on hold during the pandemic.  During the 2020-2021 school year we continued our worked with Bailey Middle School students taking the English I EOC Exam.  Even amidst the pandemic gains were achieved in this area.

Client: Crosby ISD - https://www.crosbyisd.org/
Years Active: 2015 - 2019
Grade Levels: 6 - 8 and HS Math
Subjects: Math
Services: Student Remediation, Student Boot Camps, Teacher Mentoring, STAAR Review Target Training

In 2015, our support initially began at the middle school level, focusing on math instruction for sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. In collaboration with the teachers, we engaged in regular planning sessions every six weeks to ensure their comprehension of the standards, instructional approaches, student engagement techniques, and relationship-building strategies to optimize learning outcomes.

Due to the outstanding results achieved, the school administration extended our involvement to include both middle school and high school teachers. During the 2017 school year, the district faced challenges with a significant number of students struggling to pass the Math End of Course Assessment, particularly in Algebra I. To address this issue, in addition to the regular planning sessions, we provided targeted remediation to over 200 students throughout the year. Remarkably, over 90% of these students successfully passed the assessment showing a 10% increase in the number of students passing overall.

Even throughout the pandemic, we continued to support Crosby ISD through planning sessions and virtual student boot camps, as well as providing virtual assistance to the teachers. Since 2015, Crosby ISD has consistently attended our STAAR Review Target Training sessions, which have consistently yielded positive outcomes.

The district also implemented data walls to ensure students were being tracked in terms of performance on assessments. At the end of the 2015-2016 school year we also conducted a 5th grade Math bootcamp for the second administration yielding an 82% pass rate. This was an increase of 40% from the first administration of the assessment. We continued to support the Elementary School with planning each six/nine weeks. We also provided Math Bootcamps in 4th grade in 2017, 5th grade in 2018 and 2019, and 3rd grade in 2019. These bootcamps yielded positive outcomes.

During the 2016-2017 school year, T3 began supporting grades 6 through Precalculus with six-week planning sessions. We also conducted a student bootcamp in Math in 8th Grade Math and Algebra I in order to prepare students for STAAR. Pleased with the results, we continued to plan with teachers up to the pandemic.

In conjunction with teacher planning sessions, we also conducted a Math STAAR Review Student Bootcamp for grades 6-Algebra I based on district data. Throughout each year, we diligently maintained our support for the district, tailoring boot camps to their specific needs, guided by data-driven insights. Our mentoring program proved invaluable in empowering these teachers to excel, resulting in remarkable achievements. We were thrilled to witness the impact of our work in the classroom. After the pandemic we have maintained a supportive role offering assistance as requested. We look forward to continuing to serve in HDISD.
